The survey form configuration is carried out with the help of a set of functions allowing you to enter labels and descriptions of fields (and their translations), divide them into sections, and sort them.

  • Fields in the Label column contain texts used as labels for the default language version of this registration process.
  • The Field description column contains optional field descriptions. They can be used to give the author hints or directions on how to fill in the form. Descriptions will be displayed in small text below the fiels they relate to.
  • The Data type column tells you the type of each element (details below).
  • Checkboxes in the Visibility and Required columns determine which fields will be respectively visible and required in the survey form.
  • The rightmost column contains a group of icons:
    - - edit field - change the data type of that field,
    - - provide translations - show/hide fields where you can input translations (only available if there is more than one active language version),
    - - drag and drop to change the order,
    - - delete item.

Form section headers are marked with darker color and their construction differs from form fields. Text fields contain the name and description of the section, while the section width select lets you pick what percent of the form's width will be occupied by that section. The icons on the right function the same as they do in form field rows. Caution: deleting a section header will not delete any fields that belong to that section or otherwise.

Below the table, there are two buttons that you can use to expand your survey form:

  • The add section button adds section headers that separate the form fields by placing them in different containers.
  • The add field button opens a window that prompts you to select a data type for the new field.

Data types

Data types are divided into "regular" form fields:

  • text
  • text area (text with multiple lines)
  • select (a dropdown list of items that only allows one item to be selected)
  • checkbox (or a group of checkboxes)
  • radio (a group of buttons that only allows a single item to be selected)
  • file (a file upload mechanism)
  • country (a select field containing an editable list of countries)

...and unique data types that are displayed in the interfaces of the administration panel (e.g. Reports: Surveys) and processed by the system (e.g. Category of thesis configured in the Categories tab).
